5 Tips for a cost effective bathroom renovation
Everyone knows that kitchens and bathrooms are one of the most used spaces in anyones home. They are also one of the first spaces people look at to renovate in their homes. Bathroom renovations are not cheap at the best of times given the amount of trades required to complete the work. We have outlined a few hints and tips below on how you can save on this space.
KEEP YOUR SERVICES IN THE SAME LOCATION
One of the most cost effective ways to update your bathroom is to keep the services in the same location. Relocating toilets and vanities etc will incur more cost on your plumbing so if your current bathroom layout works - stick with it.
SIMPLIFY YOUR TILE SELECTION
The most cost effective tile to lay and purchase is generally a 600x600 or 600x 300 tile. When selecting your tile try to stick to these sizes and reduce the use of mosaic tiles.
SELECT OFF SHELF CABINETRY
There are some great off shelf options for vanities these days and they are also reasonable in price. Some example of these can be found at suppliers such as VANITY BY DESIGN. This is a great alternative to custom cabinetry if you are able to do so.
STANDARD SIZE SHOWER SCREENS
There are many bathroom suppliers that have standard size shower screens. If this is an option for you then go with it. It will save you time and money.
STICK WITH A PLAN
It is often tempting once things are removed and you have a better idea of the space to change things up. In any renovation, things arise that can’t be avoided but where possible try and stick to your original plan. This will save you in any variations due to change of mind and will allow you to stick to your budget.
